Ground School

The Academy offers continuous sessions of Ground School training throughout the year and is geared for the "novice" who has never had any aviation experience or refresher training for those who may not have flown for some time.

Sessions are currently held on Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. in the Academy Training Room.

Visit our Ground School Tab for associated costs, current class schedule and weekly curriculum.

 Certificate Program in Applied Aviation

This pre-professional program prepares students to take the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) written and practical examinations for the Private Pilot Certificate with Single Engine Airplane Land Rating. This integrated curriculum introduces pilots to the unique flight environment of Alaska and includes FAA endorsements for high-performance and tail-wheel aircraft operations. This pre-professional program is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to advance to the commercial/instrument training stage.
